The Advantages And Disadvantages of Common Vibrating Screen
The screening process is an indispensable and important part of the production of crushing, sand making, and beneficiation plants. There are many kinds of screening equipment, the commonly used screening equipment mainly includes vibrating screens, fixed screens, roller screens, and so on. The following introduces the characteristics of 5 kinds of screening machines and the suitable screening equipment for different links in the sand and gravel production line.
1. Fixed screen
A fixed screen is a screening machine with a fixed screen surface. Tilted placement, the material from the high end is passed through the sieve by the weight of the ore without any external force, and is divided into two particle size levels: undersize smaller than the sieve aperture and oversize larger than the sieve aperture.
The screening efficiency of the fixed screen is low, and it is easy to be blocked when handling materials with high viscous water content. However, due to its simple structure, easy manufacture and low cost, it is widely used in ore crushing operations. Fixed screens can be divided into grid screens and bar screens.
Grid screen: mostly used in the upper part of the raw ore receiving bin and coarse crushing bin, mainly used to control the particle size of the ore.
Bar screen: mostly used for pre-screening before coarse crushing and medium crushing.
2. Vibrating screen
Commonly used mine vibrating screens usually include inertial vibrating screens, eccentric vibrating screens, heavy-duty vibrating screens, circular vibrating screens, linear vibrating screens, etc.
A. Inertial vibrating screen
The vibrator is installed on the screen box. The screen box is vibrating up and down, and the instability of the ore feed will affect the screening efficiency. The processing capacity is small, and it is suitable for medium and fine grades.
B. Eccentric vibrating screen
The eccentric vibrating screen relies on the high-speed rotation of the eccentric drive shaft to cause the screen to vibrate, so it is called the eccentric vibrating screen. It is often used in the pre-screening process, or the first screening process of sand and gravel materials.
The advantage is that the firm structure, the stable amplitude, and the large and constant vibration strength, no blocking. The disadvantage is that the bearing structure is complex, the inertia is large, and the building is likely to vibrate at the same time due to incomplete balance during work.
C. Heavy-duty vibrating screen
It is suitable for sieving large lumps and dense ore. The screening efficiency is higher than that of the fixed screen, but the equipment investment is high, which is suitable for large block classification.
D. Circular vibrating screen
The circular vibrating screen is a vibrating screen with a circular track. The screen surface is arranged obliquely, the material stuck in the screen hole can jump out, and the screen surface is not easy to be blocked. It is suitable for large blocks and medium and fine grades.
E. Linear vibrating screen
The screen surface is installed horizontally, and the movement track is a straight line. The linear vibrating screen is suitable for the screening of coarse, medium, and fine aggregates, and can also be used as dehydration and desliming equipment in wet production. The screen surface is large, the amplitude is strong, the screening efficiency is high, and the processing capacity is large.
