The Factors Affecting The Spiral Classifier Classification Effect
In the classification process, factors that affect the classification effect of a spiral classifier mainly include ore properties, spiral classifier structure, and spiral classifier operation mode. The spiral classifier is an important equipment in the mineral processing process.
The factors that affecting the spiral classifier classification effect
1. Ore properties
The influence of ore properties on the classification efficiency of spiral classifier is mainly reflected in two aspects: ore mud content and ore particle size composition.
The higher the mud content or the more fine particles in the ore, the greater the viscosity of the slurry will be, and the slower the settling rate of the ore particles in the slurry will be, causing the particle size of the overflow product to become coarser. In this case, to ensure the required overflow fineness, the water addition can be appropriately increased to reduce the slurry concentration. If the feed contains less mud or has been desludged, the slurry concentration should be appropriately increased to reduce the number of fine-grained materials entrained in the returned sand.
2. Spiral classifier structure
The trough inclination angle and the number of spiral revolutions affect the classification effect. The inclination angle of the trough affects the size of the sedimentation area, the stirring intensity of the spiral and spokes on the slurry, the coarse sand transportation capacity, and the classification efficiency. The number of screw revolutions mainly affects the stirring intensity of the slurry and the conveying speed of coarse sand.
3. Spiral classifier operation
The operation mainly refers to the slurry concentration and the uniformity of the ore feed. Slurry concentration is an important regulating factor. In actual production, slurry concentration has a great influence on the overflow fineness of the classifier. Good production indicators can be obtained by maintaining a certain overflow particle size at an appropriate concentration. The feeding amount of the spiral classifier should be kept uniform. Otherwise, it is easy to cause unstable classification concentration, thus affecting the production index of the next operation.
