The structure of the plate and frame filter press

The plate and frame filter press is mainly composed of a thrust plate (fixed filter plate), a compression plate (movable filter plate), a filter plate and a filter frame, a beam, a filter medium (filter cloth), a compression device, and a liquid collection tank.

The plate and frame filter press consists of a set of filter chambers arranged alternately through filter plates and filter frames. There are grooves on the surface of the filter plate, and the protruding parts are used to support the filter cloth. There are through holes on the corners of the filter frame and filter plate, which form a complete channel after assembly, which can pass into the suspension, washing water, and lead out the filtrate. There are handles on both sides of the plate and frame to support the beam, and the plate and frame are pressed by the pressing device. The filter cloth between the plate and the frame acts as a sealing gasket. The suspension is hydraulically pumped into the filter chamber by the feed pump, and the filter residue is formed on the filter cloth until the filter chamber is full. The filtrate passes through the filter cloth and flows along the groove of the filter plate to the channel at the corner of the plate frame, where it is discharged concentratedly. After the filtration is completed, the filter residue can be washed with clean water. After washing, sometimes compressed air is introduced to remove the remaining washing liquid. Then open the filter press to remove the filter residue, clean the filter cloth, re-press the plate and frame, and start the next working cycle.
